Burak Besir

Burak Besir is an award-winning flutist, ethnic woodwind instrumentalist, recording artist and composer born in Turkey and based in Los Angeles. Besir received his early classical music education at the Ankara State Conservatory in Turkey and achieved his masters degree as a Concert Soloist at the Royal Scottish Academy in Scotland. He received the UK Young Concert Artist Award in 2003 and won Berklee College Of Music’s World Scholarship in 2008. From classical to contemporary, video games to animation and films, Besir has delivered and performed on over 500 projects all over the world. Notable commissions include performing at the 86th Oscar Concert with the Academy Orchestra, touring with the Video Games Orchestra and working with legendary composers John Williams, Alexandra Desplat, Thomas Newman and Steven Price. As a composer and recording artist, Besir can be heard on the soundtracks of major films, TV shows and video games, including The Witcher, One Piece, The Angel, Das Boot and Final Fantasy XV. His flute-piano album Passion received an Outstanding Achievement Award at 2017’s Global Music Awards.
