Audio Network treks alongside Shooting Pictures' newly released film 'Beyond the Pole'
London, 25th February 2010 – Production Music Company, Audio Network is delighted to announce it has provided music for Shooting Pictures’ hit comedy film, ‘Beyond the Pole’ that has now sold out in London. Starring Stephen Mangan (Green Wing, Free Agents), Rhys Thomas (The Fast Show, Bellamy’s People), Helen Baxendale (Cold Feet, Friends) and Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Generation Kill, Zoolander), ‘Beyond the Pole’ is a mockumentary about the first ever carbon neutral, organic and vegetarian expedition to the North Pole.
Best friends Mark (Mangan) and Brian (Thomas) attempt to save the planet and get into the Guinness Book of Records by venturing to the Arctic unaided. Sadly, they have no expeditionary experience (except for a visit to a meat freezer); and when they accidentally shoot their arctic cameraman, they must overcome polar bears, fend off cocky gay Norwegians and fight for their sanity and lives en route to the Pole.
Director/Producer David L Williams and Exec Producer Helen Baxendale are currently looking for more cinemas to fulfil the overwhelming demand. Shot on floating sea ice off the coast of Greenland they have been bowled over by the way fans and critics alike have rallied round this underground indie. Williams said, “I think audiences love an underdog with ambition! The result is funny and dark and very unlike anything they have seen before. The music was an integral part of this. Not only are they fantastic to work with, but Audio Network get right under the skin of a production, understand the commercial pressures and the contribution they made to the movie is fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment in recommending them to anyone – indie or mainstream. They’re knockout brilliant!”
Embracing Audio Network’s flexible approach to music licensing, Shooting Pictures has unlimited access to almost 30,000 high quality tracks, across all genres and styles. Furthermore, they have the reassurance that no music copyright will be infringed, allowing them the creative freedom to focus on the project in hand.
Audio Network Creative Director, Andrew Sunnucks said, “We’re genuinely thrilled our music is an integral part of ‘Beyond the Pole’. It’s great to support a British Indie, and we are committed to providing high quality music to allow producers and directors enormous creative choices during these economic conditions when budgetary restraints are paramount.”
