Delighted Audio Network Composer, Chris Bussey and his band, TrioVD, has been included in the Zildjian World Wide Family of Artists and listed as ‘one of the hottest jazz bands in Europe’.
Zildjian is delighted to welcome their newest member to their extended family of Artists - Chris Bussey from the UK.
Chris, with his band TrioVD, a fiery improvisation trio and one of the hottest jazz bands in Europe, recently won the BBC 'Introducing Award' 2009. Their debut album Fill It Up with Ghost was described by the BBC as"one of the most powerful albums of music released last year, notionally a jazz record it owes just as much to the dynamics of rock, classical experimentalism and the take no-prisoners attitude to punk for much of its 40 minutes."
Over the last 12 months, aside from his work with TrioVD, Chris has recorded and written with some of the biggest names in Pop, Rock, Classical and Jazz, including Evelyn Glennie and Michael Bolton. He has established himself as one of the top young player producer/educators in the UK, recently partaking in a Clinic with Steve White, with whom he thanks for the support and encouragement.
Chris braved the recent UK's arctic grip of deep snow to make the four hour journey from his hometown of Leeds to select some cymbals for his forthcoming works in the studio and the TrioVD Tour in February 2010.
He says "I need a wide variety of sounds for the spectrum of musical situations I find myself in, so a mix of fast A Customs and warm K's do the trick every time whether I'm in the studio or live. My favourite cymbal in the set up has to be the Crash of Doom, not just because it has a really cool name, but it sounds amazing. It sings real low when played with sticks, brushes or mallets. Becoming a Zildjian artist is a dream come true. All of my hero's play Zildjian cymbals, to be part of that lineage is an amazing thing. The next six months holds a heavy schedule of touring, writing, and studio work. I can't blummin wait."
